Nutrition Journal Update- Due May 17th
As a class we are setting good goals, however, we are missing the specificity part of our goal setting. Go back to the idea of setting a S.M.A.R.T. goal (Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic and has a Time frame). Without this concept, our goals can be hard to track. Take a look at your goal. Many of you are saying, "I will eat more veggies" or "I will eat less snacks." What does this mean? How many less or how many more? BE SPECIFIC! Revise your goal if it needs to be. If you've already placed an amount on it, for example, "I will eat at least 3 fruits a day," then tell us how you are tracking this goal. Do you write it down? What may help you be held more accountable for sticking to your goal?

To be honest I have forgotten to use the S.M.A.R.T. system when describing my goal. So I have decided my goal will be to eat 3 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. I will track it when I eat a meal.
ReplyDeletewell my goal was straight forward and realistic so and i have sticked with it
ReplyDeleteWell to be more specific about my goal, I would like to try to drink at least 8 cups of 8 oz of water everyday.
ReplyDeleteMy original goal was to eat more servings of vegetables, so in order to redeem it, my nutrition goal is to eat at least eight servings of vegetables a week, or one per day.To be honest, I'm not really keeping strict account of my goal, but rather recalling and taking notice when I am consuming the veggies I need to be. In other words, I take a mental note and adjust my eating habits accordingly.
ReplyDeleteWhen writing my goal, i did not use the SMART method, but I think that a general goal each night to try to get 8 hours of sleep will eventually change my sleep cycle and become a habit. Therefore, while my goal is still measurable, I am simply trying to keep up with it on a day to day basis rather than through a big picture plan.
ReplyDeletewhoops that was through a family members account

My SMART goal was to drink 8 oz or less of chocolate milk a day. I don't track this goal, I just do it.
